According to the executive producer at the time, Star Wars Battlefront was supposed to be the “ultimate Star Wars fan’s dream.” While there is not a whole lot of information about the development of Star Wars Battlefront, what we do know is that development for this game began in November of 2002 at Pandemic Studios. In order to do that, we must travel back to the year 2002, when development for Star Wars Battlefront first began! So for today, I want to travel back and talk about the original Star Wars Battlefront game. In essence, many people felt that this new game was just a hollow shell of its former shelf.

While many people did love the quality of life improvements, many felt that this new version of battlefront was missing some of the core gameplay from the original game. However, the hype was short lived because fans got their hands on this game, they were definitely underwhelmed by what it had to offer. Fans finally got their wishes granted, and in 2015, a brand new game developed by DICE called Star Wars Battlefront was released. The Star Wars Battlefront games from 2004 & 2005 are such iconic games that many fans were demanding them to be brought over to modern platforms even years after their respective releases. And that series everyone, is the Star Wars Battlefront series. However, when I personally think about video game franchises that were rebooted, there is one iconic franchise that immediately comes to mind. For example, popular gaming franchises such as God of War and Call of Duty both got the “reboot” treatment. Video game reboots are not out of the ordinary in the gaming industry.
